Grandkids Come for Things in My House Thursday.

Hello everyone, I am a little late for for Things in my House Thursday, I thought I would share my grandchildren with you. They live 3 hours away from me and I don't get to spend a lot of quality time with them. So I got the two little girls and they spent a week with me. It was so much fun. We went to the fair twice and they loved it. Here they are

riding some of the rides.

Papaw (DH) gave them each $5.00 and they were so happy they wanted to show off. He spoiled them rotten.

Here they are having a ball with a little swimming pool and a water slide. What fun!

This is Haleigh. She is will be 7 in 2 weeks.

This is Brylee, she just turned 6. They are cousins. How neat they are close in age to be best friends while they are growing up!

While they were here Papaw took them to Bible school in the mornings while I worked. We had a pizza party at my church one night and then they went to the auction with us one night. They sure did have a good time and I did too. They are so precious.

Stay tuned for the teenagers. They are supposed to come next. What do you do with teenagers???? I know, shop!!!

Hello everyone. Today and I decided to get serious about losing this 20 pounds that I need to lose (me and hubby). So I thought I would post it just to see if you all will hold me accountable. I will post every week about our progress. I have no diet in mind but 8 habits that I want to get into that will make us healthy. I appreciate your support and feed back. If anyone wants to join me, please feel free to let me know and we can support each other.

On a different note, I had to take a breather from working so hard on my website for a few days as I was getting overwhelmed with everything that I had to do. I hope you all will be patient with me. I have lots of new goodies that I will be working on soon.

Butterfinger Cake for Things in My House Thursday

I just had to put this cake on for TIMHT. I make one of these every Thursday for our auction. It is scrumptious and everyone loves it. It is very easy to make so here is the recipe:

1 Box of chocolate cake mix, any kind.

1 Can Sweetened Condensed milk like Eagle Brand.

1 container of Cool Whip

2 large Butterfinger Candy Bars.

Bake the cake as directed on the package. When it comes out of the oven, poke holes in it and pour in 1 can of Eagle Brand Sweetened condensed milk. Then frost with cool whip. Put your butterfinger candy bars in a plastic bag and smash them with a hammer (this works best if the candy bars are frozen) and then spread them on the cake. Enjoy! Have a great Thursday everyone!

My Kitchen Hutch for Things in My House Thursday

Today is TIMH Thursday and I would like to share with you a picture of my hutch in my kitchen. I have had this for a long time, I traded work with my sister-in-law to get it, I tiled her bathroom and this hutch was my payment. I was thrilled as I didn't have the money to buy it at the time. It was not white but it soon became white with my handy paint brush. I set about decorating it with all of my pink and green pretties. When we sold our big house and moved to a smaller house, the new owner wanted to buy it but I ran to my new little house and knocked on the door and asked to measure the kitchen to make sure it would fit and it did, yea! So I brought it with me. My husband has since built me a huge brand new kitchen onto our little house and I have plenty of room for it now. Hope you like it.

Hello everyone, today is Thursday and I have joined the group "Things in my House Thursday" so I have this picture for today. This pretty green teapot fountain is so special to me. My late sister, Brenda, stayed with me in her last months of illness and she saw this fountain and liked it and I had to have it. She kept it full of water and running for me all the time and I will never part with it. The teapot lid plays music, a song also that reminds me of her. The pretty hurricane lamp in the picture is also special. When my mother-in-law passed away, our friends got this lamp for us. The vintage candy dish with shades of green and orange just bring the whole vignette together. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter everyone! He is risen! Can you imagine, the God who created the entire universe, when through all that He went through and now we can have life everlasting through Him. I now have a life that is guided by Him, protected by Him, loved by Him. He supplies all of my needs. I cannot imagine life without Jesus! Praise God He is Risen and lives in my heart!
